Our land is one a second chances, a place where people can make mistakes and be forgiven. Mr. Yarrow was convicted, was supervised by the government without issue. After time had passed, he applied for a pardon and that pardon was granted. In general, we look at four factors regarding the likelihood of the pardon: the offense itself, why the person needs the pardon, why the person deserves the pardon, what type of philanthropic deeds the person has done to help society. In general if any of the four are overwhelming, we believe that an application can be viewed strongly for consideration just on that single factor.

In Yarrow's case, I would like to know, at the time of the incident what was the requisite mens rea regarding consent in the federal statute? This was a consensual act, but at fourteen, some statutes specifically articulate whether consent is even a factor, while some states differentiate between the types of sex crimes. In some states, this case would not make the defendant a "sex offender."

Mr. Yarrow is a sex offender. Incredibly, he is playing a "Children's and family" free concert at the Seattle Public Library next week at taxpayer expense.

I believe Mr. Yarrow was married to the niece of a democratic senator at the time of the pardon. This might have played a role in the pardon also.

I respect President Carter, but this pardon was a horrible blunder!

Mr Yarrow was tried and convicted of a sex crime. Therefore he should be on the sex offenders list and not allowed around minors. Where is the concern for the minor whose sister watched? How does one heal from that!It is important to note he was caught once. But one is to assume there were many instances when Mr Naked Yarrow who answered the door has done this before. Why else the arrogance? Money doesn't change his disgusting actions. UGH!

Mr Yarrow got caught once but how many times has he not been caught? Abe Lincoln only gave out 2 presidenrial pardons. One to a man who was convicted for attempted bestiality! So much for the glory of that kind of pardon. Mr. Yarrow should be on the sex offenders list. I hate Jimmy Carter now.And his disregard for the plight of the 14 yr old makes ole Jimmy's morals suspect.
